The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-olu, has visited the site of the helicopter crash.

A bell 206 helicopter with registration number 5N BQW which belongs to Quorum Aviation, was flying from Port Harcourt with three people aboard when it crashed into a building at Opebi, a densely populated area in Lagos.

Two crew members died on the spot while the survivor died at the Intensive Care Unit of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH). Authorities said no one on the ground was injured.

The Governor sympathized with the families of the victims and met with residents of the area the helicopter crash-landed. Sanwo-olu ordered integrity test on the affected buildings.

“I have ordered an immediate integrity test conduct on both of the buildings to know the level of impact. We are taking on the responsibility of renovations and will provide all the necessary support to cushion the effects of this tragic incident,” he stated.
