The Adamawa State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC has refuted any leadership scandal over handing as well as taking over of the command between the outgoing and incoming commandants.

Spokesman of the command, DSC Mansur Sajoh made the refutal in a phone interview with newsmen stressing that it is true, that, former Commandant Nuradeen Abdullahi has been transferred to another state’s command and Mustapha Talba has been posted to take charge of Adamawa command.

Sajoh maintained that what happened was an in-house administrative matter which already the strategic leadership of the corp in Abuja has since addressed promptly.

Reports say that the outgoing commandant, Nuradeen Abdullahi was transferred out the state recently but opposed to it vehemently hence, refused to hand over to the newly posted Commandant  Talba for reasons best known to him.

Checks at the state command’s headquarters based at the Federal secretariat complex Yola shown that the new posted Commandant reported to the command on Monday 28th September.2020 with the full hope to assume his new office but met stiff resistance from commandant Abdullahi, who was believed to be taken unaware.

Some of the officers of the corp interviewed under condition of anonymity alleged that the outgoing commandant was in the know of the transfer weeks ago but made efforts to cancel it (transfer) through the lobby at the corp’s headquarters in Abuja and was turned down.

“Commandant Abdullahi was deceived by few officers believed to be his close confidants for allegedly advising him wrongly to resist the transfer and work his way back by pressing buttons in Abuja.

“However, that strategy was blocked with the intervention of some highly placed Adamawa politicians said to be in the senate and presidency by complaining to the higher authority of the corp in Abuja that commandant Talba is their choice,” said multiple sources.

DSC Sajoh claimed that nobody in the command can tell anyone what really transpired denying that there was no leadership scandal over the commandant’s seat rather normal routine of the job which allows changes at any given time.

“Honestly no one in this command can tell you what transpired over this issue of commandant’s transfer not even me as the image-maker but rather a normal administrative changes.

“There is nothing in the matter as the outgoing commandant Nuradeen Abdullahi has already reported and taken over his new Kaduna state command as commandant, and will soon come down to hand over Adamawa state command to Commandant Mustapha Talba.

“So with this development, I think there is no issue here, is a normal routine in the government circle.i can only wish both of my bosses fruitful tenure of office in their new places of assignment and call on officers and personnel to support them”.DSC Sajoh appealed
