Dr. Anu Fella, who is in her 30s and is not a certified plastic surgeon and has allegedly caused bodily trauma to her patients who visit her clinic for body enhancement surgeries.

Earlier this year, her viral story was all over social media when Omohtee said she ruined her buttocks. Omothee, the lady who the plastic surgery that dragged Dr. Anu’s legs to the public was done on, reported that she gave Dr. Anu 1.4million naira in December 2019 and the surgery was carried out in January. She went on to tell the general public in an Instagram live video to hold Dr. Anu responsible for her death if she died. This led to Dr Anu saying that Omothee was suffering from Body Dysmorphic Disorder(BDD), a mental illness involving obsessive focus on a perceived flaw in appearance. Dr. Anu got arrested on 3rd July, 2020.
Dr Anu was alleged also of causing the death of a beauty queen in 2018 who she performed surgery on. Earlier in 2020 the story of Dr Anu trended on Twitter; she has now been suspended from medical practice.
WAP reporter ascertained that Dr. Anu only graduated from The College of Medicine, UniLag in 2017. Then in 2018 she performed a butt enlargement operation on a beauty queen which resulted in the death of the patient. She was a House Officer when she carried out the procedure.
Her suspension is till further notice pending the determination of the case by the Medical and Dental Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal according to the Medical and Dental Practitioners Act Cap M8 LFN 2004.
Some people said “well Dr Anu can practice elsewhere even if suspended in Nigeria” but that is actually not true.
As a Nigerian-trained doctor, to work anywhere in the world, a person would need a “Certificate of Good Standing” from the Medical Council of Nigeria. And the person cannot get that if they are suspended.
