A Vibrant Celebration of Rich Heritage and Diversity
Nigeria’s independence is celebrated annually on October 1st It marks Nigeria’s proclamation of independence from British rule on October 1, 1960. Culturally Naija and WeLead, Inc. will mark its Annual Nigeria Cultural Parade & Festival celebration by hosting a culture-packed three-day event starting on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, thru Saturday, October 7, 2023. The Official Nigerian parade will take place on Saturday, October 7th, 2023, at Root Memorial Square – 1400 Clay Street starting at 10:00 am. The city of Houston is set to come alive with colors, rhythms, and flavors as the much-anticipated Nigeria Cultural Parade and Festival takes center stage in Downtown Houston. This event promises to be a celebration of Nigeria’s rich heritage, showcasing its diverse cultural traditions, vibrant music, cultural dances, and cuisine. The line-up of the event includes an Opening Reception, the Nigeria Masquerade Exhibition, and the main attraction, the Nigeria Cultural Parade & Festival.
The Nigeria Cultural Parade and Festival, now in its 7th year, is a testament to the deep cultural ties between Nigeria and the United States. The festival aims to foster cross-cultural understanding, promote unity, and provide a platform for the Nigerian community in Houston to proudly share their customs with the broader community.
