Adamawa state government and the Police authority in the state have expressed satisfaction with the recently local government elections conducted in the state.
Adamawa Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta while monitoring the exercise in some polling units in the state capital expressed satisfaction with the conduct of local government elections across the 21 LGAs in the state.
Farauta pointed out that, the turn out has been interesting and impressive and commended electorates for the peaceful conduct of the exercise.
“Am satisfied with the turnout from the polling units I visited, people conducted themselves orderly and peacefully casting their votes
‘And, we have gone out to supervise and ensure there peace and calmness all over the state
“Adamawa state is one big family, we encourage our people to remember that we need to leave peacefully togther for development to thrive
“On behalf of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, we thank people of the state for the peaceful conduct of the elections,” she said.
The deputy governor urged the electoral umpire ADSIEC to display professionalism in the conduct of the local government elections in the state.
Similarly, the Adamawa State Commissioner of Police, CP Kabir Umar Hassan has visited some polling units to asses security deployment at various polling units across the state during the ongoing Local Government Election.
CP Hassan commended voters, election officials, and security personnel for their orderly conduct and professionalism, noting that the electoral process has so far remained peaceful and devoid of any security breach.
CP Kabir Umar Hassan expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the election in the areas visited and reiterated the Command’s commitment to maintaining law and order throughout the exercise.
He urged residents to continue to remain peaceful and cooperate with security personnel to ensure a successful electoral process.
ADSIEC officials, election materials and security men were seen on ground as electorate discharge their franchise.
However, reports across the state shows ADSIEC has reduced the number of polling units in the 21 LGAs which disenfranchised some eligible voters to exercise their civil rights of electing leaders of their choice.
