Adamawa State police command has frowned at the illegal use of its uniforms threatened to arrest some civil groups, vigilantes, and other quasi security outfits.

In a statement on Saturday, police spokesman, DSP Sulaiman Nguroje said to guard against illegal use of police uniform, the command has set up a task force team to checkmate, apprehend and prosecute offenders.

The police noted with concern that these groups impersonate its personnel through the usage of illegal police uniforms, accouterments, and police logos giving the police a bad name.

” In view of the above, the commissioner of police Olugbenga Adeyanju, enjoins the entire people in the state to cooperate with the task force team as they carry out the full enforcement of the rule of law.

” He however warns offenders to desist forthwith from impersonating the police and operate within the context of the law.

” The command further assures its commitment to protecting lives and properties and call on people to report any suspicious movement around them to police,” Nguroje added in the statement.
