The  Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas company has again donated medical equipment worth N180 million to the Federal Medical Center (FMC) Yola and the Adamawa Primary Health Care Agency.

Presenting the equipment at the FMC, the NLNG General Manager for External Relations, Mrs. Eyono Fatai-Williams said the company had made several interventions in various hospitals in the South-South and Lagos to help improve healthcare delivery to Nigerians.

“In our fight against COVID-19, we have intervened in this state to the tune of five hundred thousand dollars to the FMC and to Adamawa State combined.

“We have donated various kinds of equipment.

“This is our gesture and contribution to fighting this virus through the NNPC led oil industry fund,” she stated.

In his remark, the FMC Yola Chief Medical Director, Professor Awwal  Muhd. Abubakar, expressed appreciation for the gesture, saying the donated equipment would improve the capacity of the center in terms of training and service delivery.

He cited some of the breakthroughs made by the centre which included the successful separation of female conjoined twins brought from Bayelsa state,South-South Nigeria.

In his words, ‘’ team of professionals were deployed for the surgery included surgeons, anesthetics, radiologists, laboratory scientists, preoperative nurses, and cleaners.’’

He was emphatic that with a team of surgeons and other health experts the centre is ever ready to become one of the best teaching hospitals in the country.
