To ensure quick dispensation of justice, enhance service delivery, and to provide a conducive working environment for judicial staff, the Adamawa state government will soon commence the reconstruction and renovation of dilapidated courts across the state.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri disclosed this while declaring open a two-day training for state counsels and investigators in various Government agencies in Adamawa State.
Represented by the Chief of Staff Government House Yola, Prof. Maxwell Gidado, Fintiri said the government is committed to supporting the justice system of Adamawa State administration of Criminal Justice Law, 2018 and electronic evidence.
“Despite the lean and competing resources of the state, the state will soon commence the construction and renovation of courts across the state to make them conducive for speedy dispensation of justice in the state.
“The Executive Arm of government is on the fast track in developing the state therefore, it is expected that every arm of government should hasten to develop and improve itself to be in tandem with the Executive arm to move the state to an enviable level”. He said.
Fintiri noted that the workshop is apt with the increase in crime and criminality in the society, and stressed the need for counsels and investigators to update their knowledge and skills through seminars and workshops.
He commended the organizers of the training, and called on citizens to support his administration, tolerate and live in peace with one another.
“The Adamawa State Administration of Criminal Justice Law ACJL was enacted to address the inadequacies in the criminal justice system and that the ACJL contains beautiful provisions considered to be in tune with global best practices.
“Every participant to take the training seriously and participate actively, it is imperative for stakeholders to be abreast with the way and manner electronic evidence can be generated and to tender same in evidence, in line with the provisions of the evidence act, 2011.
