NNEWI — The Obi of Umuezena Family, Umudim Nnewi, Anambra State Nigeria, Chief Martin Ndukuba Obimma has charged Igbos and lovers of Igbo culture across the globe to always exhibit: “the think home philosophy” no matter where they live.
According to him, “such ideology is a way of appreciating God, our tradition and developing our land”. “There’s no place like home so come and celebrate as we open and dedicate our ultra-modern Obi which will be a great succor to various activities in the community.”
Speaking to our reporter, Chief Obimma who said he inherited the throne after the death of his father in 1968 (about 53 years ago) enjoined all and sundry  to be a part of Umuezena double celebrations namely; the dedication of Obi Ezena and Iri Ji .”I am inviting everyone to come and join Umuezena clan in these two days auspicious celebrations, the dedication of our ultra-modern Obi at 12pm on the 26th of August, 2021 which will be ushered in with an opening mass at 10:am and the Iri Ji on the 27th of August, 2021.”
Speaking further, ”  I am inviting all our four revered traditional rulers in Nnewi, all Nnewi indigenes, in fact, all proud sons and daughters of Igbo race and Nigeria, in general, are invited to come and grace the cultural heritage of our great family, UMUEZENA.”
Praying for the safety of all returnees, Obi Ezena advised that Igbo should always come home during the Iri Ji festival so that they will enjoy the fruits of the season which is mainly maize and pear. Adding:” delicacies “of  Iri Ji like natural, nutritious homemade nsala soup, roasted yam, real oil bean will top the list.”  “Also, when your children step on the soil of their fatherland, they will triumph in all situations so come one, come all.”
Joining his voice to that of Obi Ezena, the secretary of Ezena Family Meeting, Dr. Akachukwu  Nwachukwu described the events as famous.” I liken it to the biblical communal living where the holy book stated that it is pleasing for brothers (family/kindred/community) to come together and eat in love.”
Continuing, Dr. Akachukwu explained that “Iri Ji is not fetish rather it is a fundamental age-long tradition transferred to us by God through our forefathers, so we are inviting everybody across the globe to come, I assure you it will be exciting and memorable”.

From the preparation so far, the West African Pilot News observed that the two- days ceremonies will be eventful.
