A milk factory expected to produce over 10,000 liters of milk daily situated in the Kabau Local government area of Kaduna State has been inaugurated
The Danish dairy company is owned by more than 8,400 farmers from Denmark, Sweden, the UK, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands.
Governor of Kaduna State Nasiru El-Rufai who inaugurated the Arla Milk farm in Damau, Kabau Local government area, said the project would transform cattle rearing from being a culture into a profitable business.
“The Farm is equipped with modern facilities and technology to ensure the production of high-quality milk, with a capacity of over 400 cows, and is expected to produce over 10,000 liters of milk daily”.
“The project would contribute to the development of the dairy sector, create job opportunities, and boost the economy,” he said.
He added that the project would also help in curtailing farmers-herders conflict by settling over 1200 herders and their families on the 9000 hectares-Damau Grazing Reserve.
