The Executive chairman Adamawa State Universal Basic Education Board Dr. Salihi Ateequ has reiterated the commitment of the Board in ensuring training and retraining of teachers from the basic level considering the importance of basic knowledge.

He stated this while declaring a five-day Teacher professional development training workshop for classroom teachers on Information and Communication Technology ICT organized by the Board in Collaboration with La Touvaz Consult.

The workshop is taking place at the Federal College of Education FCE Yola is being funded by Universal Basic Education Commission UBEC.

Ateequ said participants are primary and junior secondary School teachers draw from across the 21 local government areas of Adamawa would be equipped with vocation skills and ICT knowledge.

He charged the participants of the workshop to be attentive and reap the benefits of the workshop.

In his remark, the Production Manager La Touvaz Consult Dr. Nathaniel Afaor said the basic ICT knowledge for Teachers is to enable them to be in tune with the digital world.

“During the training, teachers would be exposed to Computer appreciation, exploration of authored learning materials as well as other vocational skills like fashion designing, and bead making among others”, he said.

In a welcome address, the Director, Quality Assurance Universal Basic Education Board, Yola Alhaji Jika Abdulhamid said the workshop is part of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s transformation agenda on education.
