YOLA — Police and  Military have clashed along Numan road in Adamawa state that resulting in an exchange of fire and the the the murder of military officers all in their line of duty to protect the citizenry.
The spokesman of the Adamawa State Police Command SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje who confirmed the development in a statement said the Commissioner of police CP SK Akande has strongly condemned the conflict.
The statement read in part: “The *CP* has ordered the immediate arrest and investigation into the matter to ensure peace and justice, haven called all men suspected have been involved in the conflict to headquarters
“The *CP* warned that attacks on all security officers in the line of duty would no longer be tolerated under whatever guise, as the command holds the lives of all security personnel sacrosanct, and such unwarranted conflict would be strictly treated by extant laws”.
According to the statement, the top management of security agents s doing everything legally possible to address the situation.
The CP reiterated the commitment of the Police Command to the protection and property, noted that “it is vital to work with other sister security agents in protecting the fundamental rights of security operatives, to enable them to advance their sacred mandate of serving and protecting the citizens better”.
