The Nigerian government launched the Citizens’ Delivery Tracker App, which aims to increase transparency and citizen engagement, on Monday.
The app enables Nigerian citizens to monitor government ministries’ projects and policies, empowering them to hold the government accountable.
Hadiza Bala Usman, President Bola Tinubu’s special adviser on policy and coordination, unveiled the app in Abuja on Monday.
She emphasised the app’s significance in creating a “strong feedback loop between citizens and government.”
The Citizens’ Delivery Tracker App provides users with information on government policies, programs, and projects across various sectors.
Nigerians can track the initiatives’ progress, view implementation timelines, and assess their impact through key performance indicators (KPIs).
The app features a feedback mechanism that allows citizens to share their opinions and experiences with government services. This feedback will be directed to the relevant MDAs, fostering a two-way communication channel between the government and the people.
Usman said the unveiling is the culmination of a months-long process since Tinubu announced plans for ministerial assessment at the Cabinet Retreat for ministers and heads of government agencies last November.
The Citizens’ Delivery Tracker App represents a new approach to citizen engagement in Nigeria. Nigerians will be closely watching to see if this app bridges the gap between them and their government.
